Stalo Lesta is a human rights activist. Her fields of expertise include gender equality, gender identity and gender roles, gender based violence and violence against women, homophobia, gender and education, the gender pay gap and gender occupational segregation. Stalo has extensive experience as a trainer and workshop facilitator on gender issues, targeting a variety of target audiences, including young children, teenagers, educators, school counselors, NGO activists, policy makers and parents. She is also the author or co-author of various training manuals for students and educators on gender equality, gender based violence and gender occupational segregation. Furthermore, Stalo has also been the main researcher on various EU funded research projects (implementing both qualitative and quantitative methodologies and analyses) focusing on gender based violence, violence against women, intimate partner violence and youth empowerment.
