Deborah Carlisle Solomon: Baby Knows Best: Raising a Confident and Resourceful Child

“Just by moving slowly helps the baby to feel calmer and if the baby feels calmer they are more peaceful and easier to care for”

How do we not only (over) love our babies but actually treat them respectfully? Deborah Carlisle Solomon’s view transformed when she learned about RIE – Resources for Infant Educarer. In her interview she speaks about the necessity to respect the competence the baby already has and give it the freedom to experience it in a free, of course safe but uninterrupted daily play that then gives results in a bigger competence, experiencing “I can do this by myself”. She also emphasizes how important 100% of our attention is versus distracted continuous attention and continuously hovering on top of them.
